Pärt’s Music Performed by London Symphony Orchestra and Conducted by Järvi

Where: Barbican Hall, Barbican Centre, Silk Street London, EC2Y 8DS

When: Thursday 24 April at 7.30pm
Arvo Pärt’s music will be performed by the London Symphony Orchestra and conducted by Kristjan Järvi on the 24th of April at the Barbican Centre.

This April two stunning soundworlds are brought together: leading Estonian-American conductor Kristjan Järvi, noted for his curiosity for the non-traditional, presents a highly spiritual programme exploring the beautifully haunting ‘holy minimalism’ of Estonian composer Arvo Pärt alongside the mystic, middle-eastern infused jazz of Tunisian vocalist and oud player Dhafer Youssef. As thrilling as it is thought-provoking, this celebration of man, mysticism and music eclipses cultural boundaries and promises to remind us of the rapture all musicians and music-lovers have in common.Additional information: http://www.barbican.org.uk/music/event-detail.asp?ID=14571
